Make a donation that matters

Your generous donation will help fund grants to subsidize spay and neuter surgeries of dogs and cats owned by Colorado residents in underserved areas. These grants are awarded to local coalitions of animal care and control agencies and veterinarians to help prevent unwanted litters.

Donate on your Colorado State income tax form

Colorado statute established the Pet Overpopulation Fund tax checkoff on the state income tax form. Simply enter the amount you would like to donate on the Voluntary Contributions Schedule, and the state of Colorado will forward the designated amount to CPOF. Your donation is tax deductible and anonymous.

Last year the Colorado Legislature and the Department of Revenue made changes to the tax checkoff donation process. The Department of Revenue no longer accepts donations through the tax form if you are not receiving a state refund; it will only be able to retain money from those who are getting a state refund.

If you are interested in donating to the Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund but aren't receiving a tax refund, you may make a direct donation online or via regular mail.
